Strum your sitar and have your hair cut by the waxing moon
by SJ (Sydney)
Toss away your shoes and wander barefoot around this impressive food market in Marrickville, which has just begun serving Organic superfood smoothies. Resist the urge to stop at the brightly painted juice stand near the entrance and trot on towards the back. Your body and soul will thank you for the delicious and nutritious treat.
En route, pause at the corner to be serenaded by a sitar player (it’s probably a guitar really but I’m a romantic at heart) or head towards the bouncy castle for a haircut and a massage.
There are plenty of lunch and breakfast options to tantilise your taste buds so go when you are hungry; sample the organic quinoa concoctions at the Earth Food stand or the incredible Indonesian cuisine.
You will find roughly three organic fruit and veggie stalls at this market, the rest use chemicals. They are all fairly sizeable and present a wide variety of dinner options; organic produce is easily identifiable by yellow tags.
I only have two complaints about this market, the first is that is too far from Bondi for regular visits, the second is that they need to address the recycling bin situation, of which there are currently none. Shocking!
