Nothing to lose, everything to gain
I am aware of my weakness for beer. But I’ve just had an epiphany that I may have a weakness for frequenting dark, semi-underground bars styled with vintage couches and lampshades. Andaluz is a small Spanish tapas bar which is just that…. And I love it!
The dimly lit space invites you to settle in for the night (or afternoon). Andaluz was one of the innovative bars following the introduction of the small bar liquor licencing in Perth – and it has stood the test of time.
For the beer lover (in us all) they have some interesting Spanish picks. The Alhambra Especial and Reserva are great to try side by side but my pick is the Mahou Negra – a powerful, yet surprisingly clean and light brown lager which partners perfectly with the in-house tapas.
The food…. It’s all good. Don’t go past the chicken and duck liver parfait which is a constant on the menu. If available make sure you try the BBQ beef short rib. My biggest tip is visit with a group of friends – that way you can try more of the menu!
