Vino intimacy in the CBD
Situated off one of Sydney CBD’s busiest streets and under one of its most over-rated clubs, is one of its cutest wine bars!
Perfect for a mid-week vino or a place to meet before the partying begins, Ash St Cellars is a small bar that spills out onto the small, pedestrianised street it shares its name with. While grabbing a drink inside is great, after a day in the office, I find that sitting outside under Sydney’s beautiful night sky is a fantastic way to end the day. It’s a wonderful reminder of just how beautiful this city truly is!
The wine list is extensive and inclusive of old and new world wines, but there is a definite focus on European varieties. The staff are knowledgeable and the food is good too. Felix (a French bistro) opposite and China Lane just around the corner under the hanging bird cages are also both excellent dining options. And if you do feel like kicking on, there is always the Ivy upstairs.
