There are 2 Barefoots in Manly – a large cafe on Wentworth St, and a tiny hole-in-the wall down a decidedly unglamorous side street in Manly. You want to go to the tiny one.
This itty-bitty cafe may be no larger than a cupboard, but it serves up some damn fine coffee, hot chocolate and waffles. If you include “mochas” that’s four items on the whole menu (ok there may be chai in there somewhere as well) but they do them really, really well.
There are only a few stools dotted around the space and if it’s a chilly weekend day it’s highly likely they’ve already been snagged by a group of local mates who have no plans to give up a precious seat for an interloper: no matter, get your waffle ‘to go’ and check out the markets a short stroll away.
