Stunning Sydney – by Piero

Whenever people come to visit me in Sydney I always take them on the Bondi to Coogee walk because I know they will be impressed.

This is a coastal cliff footpath that connects the stunning Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach and all the beaches in between, including Bronte and Tamarama. The stunning vistas and dramatic coastline make this one of the highlights of a trip to Sydney.

The locals use this footpath to jog and exercise in the early morning, whilst later in the day and during the weekend this is a strolling hotspot for visitors and city dwellers. The path is also used as a venue for Sculpture by the Sea, an impressive outdoor sculpture exhibition that takes place in November and that attracts masses of people.

The whole walk is 12km, but if you are looking for something more manageable, the bit between Bondi and Tamarama beach will take you 20 to 30 minutes and it will give you a very good idea of what this attraction is all about.

If you are approaching the walk from Bondi you will find the beginning of the footpath just next to Bondi Icebergs restaurant (which by the way is also amazing for sunset drinks) and the swimming club.

Visit: Start Bondi Beach, near Icebergs (if you can’t find the start of the path, just ask a local as the walk is well-know); View:; Open: All year; Wallet: Free. Remember: If you do it during the day, remember your hat and sunscreen!
