Eagle Farm, Brisbane… Andddd, they’re off and racing to get in the front gates. The people, not the horses (they’re Saturday). This market always draws a crowd each Sunday, so I know that if you want to minimise the jostling action and get ahead of the field, your best bet is to aim for a 8ish start while the pram-goers are still trying to organise the troops at home.

Don’t get me wrong – I’ve done my time at the big Cineplexes and there are still movies that require the gigantic screen (I’m thinking Die Hard type movies here), however over the past year I’ve grown to love the intimacy and personalized service at Blue Room Cinebar. Noosa – So apparently the creator of the Noosa Beach House Restaurant and Bar, Peter Kuruvita is a celebrity chef. To be honest I didn’t realise this until I started researching the restaurant at Noosa. With a Sri Lankan background and a recent TV series focused on Mexico I was intrigued.

Be inspired, captivated and appreciate

As the titles suggests, appreciation is key for this venue. The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) offers a diverse range of Australian and International exhibits. Past features have included works from Picasso, Matisse, Warhol and Mr Valentino. I just love this building and its contents. For me it’s a complete escapism from the grind of life and a must see for anyone living or visiting Brisbane.  [Read more…]
