Melbourne city – One thing I loved about living in Osaka was the tiny restaurants I’d stumble upon down the many alleyways. I’m talking no more than 6 seats in a little hole in the wall. I’d worry about the quality of the food and was always pleasantly surprised as an amazing bowl of ramen or curry came and greeted me. Melbourne, CBD – Friends from interstate are visiting and I need a place we can meet centrally to grab a bite together that unabashedly says “Melbourne”. Degreaves St comes to mind but, as is the case in many ‘iconic’ (tourist trap) locales, quality food can be hard to find.
