‘Fresh and authentic Italian’ – Fratelli’s Café Sopra (Sydney)

Alexandria, Sydney – Sometimes I realise I really do live in a great part of Sydney when I can count a gem like this as my local Italian. I was upset to hear that Fratelli Fresh in Danks St was to be no more, mainly because they really did sell the best fresh tomatoes money could buy in their fruit and veggie market. But when I heard they were moving around the corner into the old Buckland Hotel site in Alexandria, delicious anticipation set in.

Sydney CBD – Personally, I think the QT Hotel is worth a visit if only to check out the lift that plays music to reflect the number of people inside, I got the “lonesome” tune but I hear there are “romantic” and “party” tunes on offer too.

Lucious Lucio’s Pizzeria (Sydney)

Darlinghurst, Sydney – Lucio’s pizzeria and restaurant is a well known gem in the Eastern suburbs. And for a good reason: the pizza is awesome and done to the traditional Naples’ recipe, the staff are cool and friendly and the location (somewhat secluded in the back streets of Darlinghurst) means that the clientele is mostly local.
