Not for the Pho-bic!

by Piero

Pho must almost be addictive as I find myself returning to the Dragon Den more and more. Having spent a month in Vietnam during my travels I have never been to a restaurant elsewhere that is so reminiscent of the real deal!

The locals come here in droves, and I must say when I ‘discovered’ this place I felt a bit like the last one in the know.

The food is fantastic – with a menu which is both classic (PHO!, Vietnamese spring rolls, etc) but also inventive. Some great veggies options like the vegetarian curry make sure that everyone is catered for. The freshly squeezed lychee mint ice juice is heaven in the hot Sydney summer.

The space is narrow and long, simply and practically decorated in an unmistakably Vietnamese fashion (from the floor tiles to the dark wooden tables upstairs) while the staff are friendly in a no fluff sort of way.

The Den is both BYO and fully licensed and prices are moderate compared to the rest of Darlinghurst, which makes this also a good option for your wallet. Great both for lunch and dinner, takeaway is also available.

Go on, give the Pho a go!
