Darlinghurst, Surry Hills & Bondi Beach, Sydney – Something to lick home about!
I am Italian and I love my gelato. It reminds me of hot summer evenings, Mediterranean beaches and my childhood. So I am delighted to be living just round the corner from Gelato Messina, in Darlinghurst.
No matter whether it is sweltering or raining, this place is always buzzing with people queuing to grab one of these delicious ice creams – queues can often be chaotic or non-existent just like back home in Italy. Flavours include old classics like chocolate and vanilla, healthier options and indulgent creations (watch out for the specials board for the latest ones). The staff are friendly and helpful, whilst trying to satisfy the herds of gelato-hungry customers. The gelato lab next door offers ice cream cakes and small treats.
This place is a favourite stop-over for locals and visitors, and often people will forfeit ordering dessert in the nearby restaurants in favour of a refreshing treat at Gelato Messina – I know I do!
Local tip: Gelato Messina also has stores in Surry Hills and Bondi Beach
