Subiaco, Perth – Hidden behind an art shop in the leafy Subiaco streets is Juanita’s. This is a unique and quaint bar that is way more than meets the eye. Lots of kitsch knick knacks and retro art line the walls and mis-matched tables and chairs are crammed together to make you feel more like you are in the comfort of someone’s home than in a bar.
Aside from the cool arty vibe there is a fabulous and varied wine list and an even more extensive selection of out of the norm beers, ciders and
spirits. You have to try “Juanita’s Margarita”, it will not disappoint!
I really recommend trying the small or large tasting plate of the day. These are filled with delicious morsels like chorizo, cheeses, olives and a variety of small bites like meatballs and croquettes. My partner and I have shared the large platter and it was more than enough for us for dinner and great value for money!
Juanita’s is a great surprise and would be a great venue for low key date night or a catch up with friends. The staff are friendly, helpful and actually know what they are serving which I find very refreshing.
If you want to experience something different and local; and love the small bar revolution then you will love Juanita’s.
