Without fail my favourite Thai in Brisbane is My Thai at Auchenflower. Hidden away in a quiet suburban pocket, My Thai is consistently good. In fact I believe that it is so good that Prince William has dined here before (a rumour I heard last time I dined there).
Family owned and operated (since 1993) they also run a take away only venture My Thai Kitchen just around the corner in Milton. I was lucky enough to also do one of their cooking classes too and it was awesome! When you realize all the preparation, fiddling and slow cooking that goes into your favourite meals it certainly gives a newfound reverence for the meals you order and promptly get in the restaurant.
My order is predictable but that’s because they’re so good – chicken cashew, sweet basil chicken and beef massaman curry. Yum! The menu also has a few funny items gently targeted at a certain xenophobic former QLD politician…
If you plan to dine in call and make a booking as they are always busy. My Thai are fully licensed and are also BYO.
