What do sea containers, old school-chairs and delicious raw food have in common? Not much but they are all in one place – the Raw Food Kitchen. And you thought Freo couldn’t get any cooler.
The Raw Food Kitchen is definitely as popular as it is cool. It’s frequented and run by Freo hipsters and yogis and the atmosphere itself is welcoming and relaxing. The other patrons are generally a cross section of everyone else in Perth, and there’s always a queue outside the door.
As the name implies the food is raw (or slightly warmed)- but don’t let that put you off. The kitchen rethinks fast-food classics like nachos, pizzas or pad thai and turns them into delicious, filling meals. Pick anything on the menu- they are all yummy wholesome relations of their fast-food cousins. Just make sure you leave enough room for dessert- the chocolate melts in your mouth like no other I’ve ever had. My mouth waters even now at the thought of it.
Meals range from $18-25, drinks from $3-9 and the desserts are $5-9. There’s also yoga classes on all day. Just don’t turn up for dinner on a weeknight as the kitchen is closed.
