A heavenly court – Saint Lucy Caffee Cucina (Brisbane)

St Lucia, Sydney – My how my old University has changed – not surprising given that I graduated in 2001 (oh my goodness could it really be that long ago?). When a friend recently suggested we catch up for brunch at one of the café’s at the University of QLD I was a bit of a skeptic – surely there were better things than brekky at Uni? Happily I was proven wrong and am now a repeat customer!

Located down near the UQ tennis centre, Saint Lucy’s is a large, open plan café with a really relaxed and comfortable vibe.  I have only eaten here for brunch (as it is my favourite meal of the day) however they are open for lunch and dinner and serve up a range of nibblies to go with afternoon drinks. Of course if you are super motivated you could always start off with a game of tennis and then follow up with a snack. At this stage I have gone so far as to locate my tennis racquet in the wardrobe…

Whilst there are no earth shattering menu items they do everything well and consistently and the overall “vibe” of this venue is what makes it so pleasant – perfectly suited to this time of year in Brisbane where the skies are clear but it’s not stinking hot. Somehow I even manage to feel somewhat virtuous just from watching other people play tennis …
