Eagle Farm, Brisbane… Andddd, they’re off and racing to get in the front gates. The people, not the horses (they’re Saturday). This market always draws a crowd each Sunday, so I know that if you want to minimise the jostling action and get ahead of the field, your best bet is to aim for a 8ish start while the pram-goers are still trying to organise the troops at home.

One of which is Greek family-run Lefkas Taverna. It hasn’t just sprung up overnight, with a strong backbone of over 20 years in business – a sure fire sign it’s a place of authentic, well-loved food.

Euro, you’re on to something – Euro (Brisbane)

Exposed brickwork, dim lighting and high-ceilings. This mid-fine dining restaurant does set you up on the right note, as long as you can find it! Despite being smack bang in the middle of town you still need to keep your eyes peeled. There is little signage, but if you know where Urbane is on Mary St, you’d be at the right spot. Euro is the little cousin of Urbane and is now a part of the complex of Sub Urbane and Laneway Bar.
