Melbourne city – One thing I loved about living in Osaka was the tiny restaurants I’d stumble upon down the many alleyways. I’m talking no more than 6 seats in a little hole in the wall. I’d worry about the quality of the food and was always pleasantly surprised as an amazing bowl of ramen or curry came and greeted me. Any night of the week you walk past Yim Yam and you’ll notice the place teeming with people. Even with their recent expansion and extra dining space it’s tough to get a spot if you’ve just walked in off the street.  Maybe it’s the retro Thai paintings hanging on the walls? Or the kitsch tableware? Or the huge statue of Buddha placed in the middle of the dining room? It’s all the above plus the delicious and fabulously cheap food that keeps locals coming back for more.
