Don’t resist this
Just when I thought I’d discovered all of the best cafés in my local area, along comes one that beats all of the others on all of the important criteria – food, coffee, service and location! Not just a café but a bakery too, Tre Pani in Dover Heights specialises in serving delicious pastries and a range of artisan breads.
This boutique hill-top café/bakery with views of Sydney Harbour should definitely be on your ‘to do’ list, especially if you’re visiting Sydney or if you’re a local looking for somewhere to take visiting friends or relatives.
On my last visit to Tre Pani, I met some lovely friends for a lazy Sunday brunch. I must admit, it was really, really hard to go
past the pastries (which I’d usually choose) and order something from the breakfast menu. But I’m glad I did because the poached eggs with ham off the bone, served on freshly baked bread, was unforgettable.
They also do great soy cappuccinos, using Sydney’s very own Di Gabriel coffee. The only problem was that one coffee was not enough!
Dover what? Dover Heights is relatively easy to get to – take a drive to Watsons Bay on the weekend and stop off on the way at Tre Pani for some tasty pastry treats, or catch a bus from Bondi up the hill for lunch. If you’re feeling energetic, go for a stroll aroun
d the neighbourhood after your visit for harbour and ocean views.
After brunch, I somehow resisted picking up a Danish pastry for afternoon tea, but I know I won’t be as strong on my next visit to Tre Pani!by
