The Big Salad, made famous by Seinfield, has certainly stepped up a level or three, with the Veggie Patch Diner turning the tables on the once bland iceberg and tomato chunk duo. This café serves up an exciting, ever-surprising ‘hipster’ mish-mash of quinoa, kale, beetroot and chia… and then some!
What’s not to like about inventive and unique salad mixes? If it’s got flavour and nutrition, then it’s got to be a winner. That’s what you get in ‘spade loads’ down at this eatery in the Five Ways district of Paddington. Choose from a range of fresh salads and they’ll generously serve this up with homemade dips and flatbread. I couldn’t recommend this menu pick more highly.
Breakfast wise, it’s hard to go past the poached eggs on a crispy potato rosti, spinach leaves and sweet, runny pesto dressing. Total melt in your mouth goodness! Their egg and haloumi burger with relish is also scrumptious.
Eat in, eat out, it’s your choice. The front is super handy if you have furry friends, while the back courtyard is also a top choice, offering a quieter spot to read the paper. Say goodbye to iceberg and g’day to kale!
